vaginal laser therapy

Vaginal laser therapy is a minimally invasive procedure in which laser beams are used specifically to treat vaginal atrophy, urinary incontinence or tissue sagging. The laser stimulates collagen formation and improves the elasticity and blood flow of the tissue.

Vaginal laser therapy is a minimally invasive treatment method that is mainly used in women with conditions such as vaginal atrophy, vaginal dryness, urinary incontinence, sagging tissue or to improve sexual function. These conditions often occur during menopause or after childbirth, when estrogen levels drop and the vaginal tissue becomes thinner, drier and less elastic.

During the treatment, a special medical laser (often CO2 or Er

) is used, which delivers targeted thermal energy to the vaginal mucosa. The laser creates microscopic injuries in the tissue without damaging the surface. This stimulates the body's natural healing response, which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. These two proteins are essentially responsible for the firmness and elasticity of the tissue.

The effect of laser therapy leads to a thickening and better blood circulation of the vaginal mucosa, which improves vaginal elasticity, moisture and firmness. In addition, the therapy can have a positive effect on the pH value of the vagina and promote the growth of healthy lactobacilli. The treatment is usually carried out on an outpatient basis, takes only a few minutes per session and does not require anesthesia. Several sessions are usually necessary to achieve optimal results. Side effects are rare and mild, such as slight redness or swelling, which usually subside after a few days.

Vaginal laser therapy offers an effective and gentle alternative for women who do not want to undergo hormonal treatments or who cannot tolerate them. However, it is not suitable for every patient, which is why a prior examination and consultation with a gynecologist is necessary.
